World Champion vs Olympic Champion vs Former World Champion

Sydney's reigning world champion Dani Samuels has been pitted against America’s Olympic champion Stephanie BrownTrafton and New Zealand’s former world champion Beatrice Faumuina in an innovative three-way shoot out.

Maori warriors will set the scene with a blood curdling pre-competition haka, while the Star Spangled Banner of the USA and Australia’s Southern Cross will be unfurled in equally as emotive ceremonies. DJs will pump up the crowd – and athletes – in between throws, and adding to the event is that Dani will be throwing to raise funds for her charity, The Go Research Fund, which is striving to find a cure for  Ovarian cancer.

This is a perfect opportunity to get behind the amazing Dani Samuels, who aims to add the Commonwealth Games gold medal to her already impressive collection of medals and trophies when she competes in Delhi later this year. Athletics Australia has sanctioned this event so any record – world or otherwise - will be officially recognised.
