Usain Bolt hints at Sydney hit-out E-mail

THE fastest man in the world Usain Bolt has touched down in Sydney and may even stretch out his famous legs at tomorrow night's Athletics Allstars meet at Sydney Olympic Park.

The man who can cover 100m in 9.58 seconds will not run at top speed again this year, after calling an early end to his international competition season because of a back injury.

But Bolt suggested on his arrival at Sydney Airport yesterday that he might run the anchor leg of a celebrity 4 X 100m

relay, alongside cricketer Brad Haddin, boxer Danny Green and retired sprinter Melinda Gainsford-Taylor.

“I will probably a run a relay but I don't think I will be doing anything serious,” he said.

“I'm feeling good, feeling happy."

Promoter Hayden Knowles said he would love the big Jamaican to “stride out and show his technique”, but he would be “having fun” rather than racing.

Bolt is primarily on a promotional tour of Australia, to launch a new Gatorade product that has been named in his honour.

He was sipping from the bottle of his sponsor's product as he faced the media pack at the airport.

Flanked by a Jamaican posse, Bolt signed a few autographs then was whisked away to his hotel in a black Audi.

He will host a coaching clinic for football stars including Jarryd Hayne, Greg Inglis, Josh Morris and Lachlan Turner tomorrow afternoon before the players race for the title of “Fastest Man in Football” at the Allstars meet.

“That should be good, it should be extremely exciting, so I'm looking forward to that definitely," Bolt said.

However the meet does have a serious edge for some of Australia's leading Commonwealth Games athletes, including world discus champion Dani Samuels and world indoor long jump champion Fabrice Lapierre, who will use it as their last hitout before they depart for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
