Spruiked as the event which will determine exactly who is the fastest footballer in Australia, Gardner will come up against the world’s greatest athlete Usain Bolt as well as the likes of Greg Inglis, Jarryd Hayne and athletes from other codes as part of the Pirtek Athletic All Stars festival.  Gardner had a sensational debut season and proved himself a real speedster with a number of long range tries. However, the 20-year-old hasn’t had too much time to prepare having just returned from his end of season trip to Bali."Today was the first time I had run since Bali so I had a good field session and a good blow out," Gardner said. "We're having a training session with Usain [Bolt] out at Homebush tomorrow before the race so that should be awesome." "I don't rate my chances, but it will be great to be involved." "I went through little athletics when I was younger and all the way through to high school, and my pet event was the 100m and long jump so we'll see what happens." “It’ll be interesting that’s for sure." One man Gardner will line up against is former teammate and Eels sensation Jarryd Hayne. Hayne nominated Melbourne counterpart Greg Inglis as the man to beat, but noted the Cronulla rookie as a real danger. "It's exciting," Hayne said. "I can't wait for the chance to run.
