FASTFACT

Steffensen’s parents enroled him into Little Athletics to provide him with an outlet to burn his excess energy. He represented Western Australia as an amateur boxer, and for a while he trained in the same squad as current world cruiserweight champion Danny “The Green Machine” Green He created history in 2006 by becoming the first Australian since Darren Clark [1990] to win the Commonwealth Games gold while competing at Melbourne. He has been frustrated by a series of injuries in recent times.
