AAP July 10, 2010 LAUSANNE: Australian world champions Steve Hooker and Dani Samuels had to settle for second and third respectively, at the athletics Diamond League meeting in Lausanne. Yet to notch a win in the 2010 league in three starts, Olympic gold medallist Hooker (pictured) was runner-up for a second time to Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie, the man he beat for pole vault gold at the world championships in Berlin last year. Making her second Diamond League appearance, Samuels threw 62.05m in the women's discus, won again by Cuba's Yarelis Barrios with an opening heave of 65.92, with American Becky Breisch (64.53) second. |
